Tenant's Costs
Tenant pays the rental fee (hun: bérleti díj), the building maintenance fee (hun: közös költség). Sometimes the building maintenance fee includes two parts: there is a portion for maintenance and an other portion for building development and renovation (hun: felújítási alap). In this case the tenant pays only the real maintenance amount. Once a year the building maintenance fee is raised, mostly by 4-8%. It is practical to lay down what is the maximum that the tenant is willing to accept.
In some cases the building maintenance fee includes the water fee as well, in other cases not.
Other costs can be gas and electricity. The price calculation of these services varies a lot. Mostly, it depends on the type of building. In some cases you can rent the apartment for fixed price, in this case it is important to know what this fixed price includes, for example whether internet is included or not.
